What is the difference between the Classic and Contemporary design?

The difference is purely aesthetic. Both models offer the exact same internal features, remote control, and cleansing performance. The Contemporary design features a smooth, flat, minimalist lid that wraps over the seat ring for a uniform modern look. The Classic design features a subtle molded ridge around the top edge of the lid for a more traditional appearance.

How does the TOTO S7A compare to the TOTO S7?

The only difference between these two models is automation. The A in S7A stands for Automatic. The S7A features a motion activated lid that automatically opens as you approach and closes when you leave. The standard S7 does not have a motion sensor, so its lid is opened and closed manually or with the remote control. All other features, including the ultra slim profile, spray modes, and water heating, are identical.

Will it fit my toilet?

The S7A is designed for elongated toilets, which measure approximately 18.5 inches from the center of the mounting holes to the front tip of the bowl. It fits toilets with a relatively flat bowl that meets the tank at close to a 90 degree angle. It will not fit toilets with a curved French curve tank that meets the bowl on a slope. For a completely seamless look with hidden cords and hoses, pair it with a TOTO Washlet plus (T40) toilet.

Do I need electricity?

Yes. The S7A requires a grounded GFCI outlet rated for 120V and 15 amps located within reach of the toilet. The integrated power cord is 4 feet long with a standard three prong plug. A dedicated circuit is recommended for safety and optimal performance.

Is my toilet compatible with the auto flush feature?

The S7A is auto flush compatible, but it requires a separate hardware kit installed inside the toilet tank, and a compatible TOTO Washlet plus (T40) toilet. Use the THU857 kit for single flush models or the THU855 kit for dual flush models. Standard toilets without the T40 design cannot accommodate the auto flush motor.
